Abstract

CD-ROM drives or optical drives are CD players inside computers that can have speeds in the range from 1x and beyond, and have the capability of playing audio CDs and computer data CDs.  Most computers come equipped with CD-ROM drives, making it one of the most popular media available. In a few short years, the Compact Disk - Read Only Memory (CD-ROM) drive has gone from pricey luxury to inexpensive necessity on the modern PC.
